Sweet Southern Soirée: Planning a First Birthday Party

Sweet Southern Soirée: Planning a First Birthday Party

When a mom of twins has visions of gingham and monograms for a special first birthday party, Just Peachy owner Christen Byrd brings it to life down to the last detail.

First birthdays are such a big milestone – even more so when there are twins turning one year old! For a mom of such twins, planning the event became a whole lot easier with the help of Just Peachy. The twin’s mom, Jessica, wanted a party with supplies for the whole family, and one that was special for each twin – a baby boy and a baby girl. Sweet, southern, and classic was her theme, and that means getting out the gingham and making custom monograms.

Jessica wanted the twins, Poppy and Cahill, to be front and center, surrounded by balloons. We love that idea! The next step was to mock up a display: balloons, high chairs for each twin, and a custom monogram.

Once Christen finalized the monogram design, it was up to Rock City Thumps to cut and paint the monogram out of wood. They did a gorgeous job!

Just Peachy surrounded the monogram with white, pink, light blue, and gold chrome balloons, and placed our vintage white high chair alongside an identical brown one borrowed from a family friend.

Jessica had already purchased all the plates, napkins, and high chair garlands. So now it was time to coordinate the food. Sweet Lavender Bakes perfectly executed Christen’s blue gingham and pink cake design that incorporated the monogram.

To make sure there was more than enough sweetness to go around, Christen brought in gorgeous monogrammed cookies from Ann Potter Baking and pink and blue custom macarons from Loblolly Creamery.

As everyone knows, you can’t live on sweets alone, so the rest of the table was filled with delicious breakfast food from Blue House Bakery: breakfast casserole and bacon, and a biscuit bar with regular and chocolate chip biscuits.

It’s a joy to work with other local vendors in this way and see them each create incredible treats with such care for the custom theme & monogram. Hannah at Sweet Lavender Bakeshop, Sarah at Ann Potter Baking, and Melissa at Loblolly Creamery were all amazing in their work for this event. It takes a village (and we have a fantastic one here in central Arkansas)!

All in all, it was a fantastic first birthday party!
